Emma and Steve’s wedding was as small and intimate as it gets. Just them, at one of our favourite places in the world, Emerald Lake Lodge. They had even second guessed at having a photographer come out to shoot their day but, wow, am I ever happy that they contacted us. It was drizzly, damp, foggy and quite chilly when we arrived at the lodge, not exactly the kind of weather most people hope for on their wedding day. When I met Emma & Steve for an hour shoot before their I do’s, it struck both trish (my amazing, beautiful super assistant/wife) and I that Emma’s flats weren’t going to cut it. Luckily, we had our daughters with us and our youngest daughter, Mim, had on her pink gum boots that fit Emma perfectly! Much warmer than flats.
Emma and Steve were fantastic to work with. The weather was chilly, but it made for some amazing photos and even though I pushed them to trek through the wet trees & mud and shiver in the cold, they were so happy just being together and excited to be getting married. I was only going to shoot for an hour, I also ending up capturing the lovely, intimate ceremony, finishing up with a couple more epic mountain shots before heading back to the warmth of the lodge.
I am so happy with the images we created together in only 2 hours and want to thank Emma and Steve for letting f8 capture their amazing day. Congrats guys. Cheers!
